battle it out for the flag

role: level design

Using Unreal Engine for Fortnite, this was a Sheridan project all about designing for PVP, which included rigorous multi-user playtests and iteration processes.

Taking place in a tropical setting based on the Pirates of the Carribean franchise, this project showcases balanced and compelling map design for an objective focused 3v3 shooter.

What started out as a graybox map for testing became a visually polished kitbash level using a restricted number of assets from several asset packs - this project required resourcefulness and careful thinking when selecting and placing assets in order to stay efficient using modularity principles.

The clip here showcases one half of the map which has been entirely kitbashed and replaced with high quality assets - resulting in a half that looks visually compelling while still being functional.
